Welcome! You’ve found the Darkside Running Club. If you were searching for Darth Vader you took a wrong turn, go back or better yet read on! Maybe we can entice you to “cross-over” to the Darkside!
We have one vision, one goal…for you to run as far as you allow yourself to! If you are of a like mind, then you are in the right place.
The Darkside Running Club was founded in 2002 by Scott Ludwig, legendary ultra-runner and author and Al Barker.
As the current president, I invite you to join us at one of the five events we host and see for yourself if you want to “cross-over” to the Darkside.
- There are three holiday marathons; New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, and Labor Day.
- The 8-Hour Run Endurance Event held in May on a beautiful horse farm in Moreland, GA, hometown of Lewis Gizzard, Southern writer and humorist.
- The October Distance Festival located in Haralson, Ga. There’s something for just about everyone; the Darkside Marathon and Half, the Running Dead Series, and the Senoia 60 Series. If you’re a fan of the “Walking Dead” series, you may recognize some of the scenery. This event is Georgia Grand Prix Series event.
We encourage our members to participate in two ways. Join the clubs FaceBook page and share your running stories (and photos). You know, the good, the bad, and the funny. And to volunteer to help with one of the events so everyone has an opportunity to “pay it forward”. In addition, we publish four quarterly newsletters (accessed via the internet on approximately March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 15).
If you have any questions or comments, feel free to pass them along.
I hope to see you soon– over on the Darkside.
