Adamy Diaz currently serves as the Secretary on the Board of Directors.
Adamy’s first race was the Blue Angels’ Half-marathon, February 2001, in Pensacola, Florida. After a long sabbatical, she walked her first and second marathons in December 2008 and February 2009 respectively. Using the Galloway run/walk method, she ran her first marathon (third lifetime) in 2012. She crossed over to the Darkside in 2013 and completed her first 50k at the Peachtree City 50k. Since then, Adamy has completed 7 more marathon and 8 other ultras, a total 29 half-marathons, a 10k and a 5k. She is a Half-Fanatic and a Marathon Maniac.
She is a skilled Web and Graphic Designer who has provided the club with new logos for several races and a new website. She designed the current logo which was selected a few years ago to represent the club. She has redesigned the layout of the Absolute True … Tales from the Darkside Newsletter.
Adamy holds degrees in Computer Science, Visual Arts, Web & Graphic Design, and Massage Therapy. She is the co-owner of Angel Dolfyn Massage and owner of Artistik Dreamlife Design Studio. She is also a part-time tutor for Greenville Technical College. She has served on the boards of the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Regents for Leadership Greer, and on the Greer Memorial Hospital Advisory Board. She’s been honored with the 2003 Small Business of the Year and the Volunteer of the Year 2005 awards by the Greer Chamber. She received the Miss Greater Greer Scholarship Committee Woman of Achievement award in 2006. Darkside Running Club honored her with the 2014 Mama Betty Award for her volunteerism to the club.
As an active volunteer of the Darkside Running Club, she has directed several races including the Memorial Day Run and the Darkside Distance Festival. Because of her creative design skill, she helped Scott Ludwig develop the original festival as the Senoia 60 series and it is now in its 3rd year as the Darkside Distance Festival.
